According to the policy of the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association (P.O.R), the following awards are established for scout leaders and other distinguished individuals:

Thanks Badge

  • This badge is framed with a scout emblem and the words “Thanks Badge.”
  • It is given to non-scouts who have done a good deed for the scout movement.
  • Recipients do not become members of the association.
  • Approval from the District Scout Commissioner is required.
  • The badge is worn on regular clothes, not on the scout uniform.

Gallantry Award

  • This award is given by the National Headquarters based on recommendations from the District Scout Commissioner and the Provincial Commissioner.
  • Eligible recipients include scouts, scout leaders, non-executive personalities, honorary rank holders, and scout groups.
  • The application must be submitted on a prescribed form.
  • The medal is worn on the left chest above the pocket on the scout uniform.
  • A certificate signed by the President and Chief Scout of Pakistan is also given with the medal.
  • There are two grades:
    • Bronze Medal
    • Silver Medal: For those who performed exceptionally brave acts in extremely dangerous situations. It has a red ribbon.

Bronze Medal

For those who performed brave acts in normal dangerous situations. It has a yellow ribbon.

Silver Medal

For those who performed exceptionally brave acts in extremely dangerous situations. It has a red ribbon.

Award for Courage and Encouragement

  • Given by the National Headquarters to scouts or distinguished individuals for their contributions to the scout movement.
  • There are two types:
    • Commendation Award
    • Excellence Award

Commendation Award

For those who helped promote scouting in their area.

Excellence Award

For those who made outstanding contributions or donations to scouting. It includes a certificate signed by the Provincial Chief Scout or the Chief Scout of Pakistan.

Good Services Award

  • For scout leaders who have provided significant service to the scout movement for at least seven years.
  • It is awarded based on the recommendation of the Provincial Association and approval by the National Headquarters.
  • The grades of this award are:
    • Letter of Commendation
    • Certificate of Merit
    • Medal of Merit: For those who have served for an additional five years beyond the initial seven years. It comes with a green ribbon.
  • The medal is worn on the left chest above the pocket on the scout uniform. A certificate signed by the President and Chief Scout of Pakistan is also provided.

Long Service Medal

  • For scout leaders who have served the scout movement for 25 years.
  • The medal is worn in the middle of the right pocket. It comes with a white fabric badge to be worn above the left pocket.

Silver Falcon

  • For scout leaders who have provided exceptional service to the scout movement.
  • Awarded based on the Chief Commissioner’s recommendation.
  • Comes with a yellow ribbon and a certificate signed by the President and Chief Scout of Pakistan.

Bar to Silver Falcon

  • For scout leaders who have already received the Silver Falcon and have continued to provide outstanding service for another five years.

Silver Camel

  • The highest award of the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association.
  • Given to individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting the scout movement.
  • Comes with a certificate signed by the President and Chief Scout of Pakistan, a green and white ribbon, and a badge worn above the left pocket.

National Awards Committee

  • The committee consists of:
    1. Chief Commissioner (Chairman)
    2. Two members from the Provincial Associations
    3. Two commissioners selected by the Chairman
    4. Director of Training
    5. Director of Programs
    6. Secretary
  • The committee reviews and approves the recommendations for various awards. 

     

    Note: No scout or scout leader can wear any badges or awards on the scout uniform except those listed in the P.O.R or awarded by a foreign scout association.
