Overview

The Shaheen Scout section is an integral component of the scouting movement in Pakistan, focusing on the comprehensive development of children. Through a structured program, Shaheen Scouts pledge to fulfill their duties to Allah, become responsible citizens of Pakistan, and assist others in need. The Scout Method emphasizes practical learning, teamwork, and leadership under adult guidance.

Age Requirements

The Shaheen Scout section is tailored for young children aged between 6 to 11 years old. This age range ensures that members are at an appropriate developmental stage to engage in the activities and responsibilities of the scouting program.

Activities

Shaheen Scouts participate in a diverse range of activities aimed at personal growth, skill development, teamwork, and community service. These activities foster character building, citizenship, and a sense of responsibility towards oneself and others. The program ensures that activities are age-appropriate and aligned with the principles of scouting.

Rank Badges

Shaheen Scouts can earn various rank badges, including Pehla Sitara, Dosra Sitara, Tesra Sitara, and the prestigious Allama Iqbal Badge. These badges symbolize progression, leadership, excellence, and exceptional service within the scouting program.

Proficiency Badges

Proficiency badges are earned by completing specific tasks or activities related to various skills or knowledge areas. These badges demonstrate a Scout’s proficiency in areas such as first aid, outdoor skills, and citizenship, reinforcing the principles and values of scouting.

Uniform and Insignia

Shaheen Scouts don dark gray or khaki shirts and pants, echoing the attire of their counterparts in the Boy Scout section. The Pakistan Flag cloth badge is prominently displayed above the right pocket, affirming their allegiance to the scouting movement and national identity. Similarly, the Pakistan Shoulder Badge is proudly worn on the right shirt sleeve, symbolizing their affiliation with the scouting community.

On the right shoulder, Shaheen Scouts showcase their proficiency badges, demonstrating their mastery of various skills and achievements. Meanwhile, the left shoulder bears the rank badge, reflecting their progression and leadership within the Shaheen Scout section.

In addition, the Brotherhood Badge is prominently placed on the right front pocket, emphasizing unity and camaraderie among Shaheen Scouts. On the left front pocket, the Membership Badge serves as a testament to their dedication and commitment to the principles of scouting.

Exceptions to uniform guidelines may apply for specific Shaheen Scout activities or events, ensuring consistency and representation within the scouting movement.

Test Card

Shaheen Scouts use a Yellow Test Card to track their progress through various tasks and skill development. This card details the specific requirements Shaheen Scouts must fulfill to earn their rank and proficiency badges. Each task on the card is clearly defined, and scouts must have their completed tasks checked and approved by their leader to ensure they meet the standards and learn effectively.

The Test Card outlines the tasks needed to earn rank badges, including activities such as learning knots, participating in team games, and demonstrating scouting knowledge. It also includes requirements for proficiency badges, which allow scouts to specialize in areas like first aid, camping, and community service. By following the Test Card, Shaheen Scouts understand what is expected of them and can stay organized and focused on their goals.

Leaders play a vital role in this process by checking tasks, offering guidance, and supporting the scouts. The Yellow Test Card serves as a comprehensive guide for Shaheen Scouts, ensuring they complete all necessary tasks to earn badges and develop their skills effectively within the scouting program.

Joining Process

To join the Shaheen Scouts, boys must meet age requirements and demonstrate knowledge of the Shaheen Promise, Law, Salute, and Salam-e-Akbar. Upon meeting criteria, boys are invested as Shaheen Scouts and receive the Shaheen Scout Membership Badge.
